How An Optometrist Roseville Professional Saved The Life Of A Friend

Many individuals out there don’t realize just how important visiting an eye doctor on a regular basis really is.  One of my really good friends woke up one morning and could not see out of one of her eyes very clearly.  This scared her quite a bit; she had never had vision problems and did not know what was going on.  It was at this point that she decided it was time to pay a visit to her local Roseville optometrist.  She went to the eye doctor and they told her that she actually wasn’t having eye problems at all, but was having an early sign and symptom of something called Muscular Dystrophy.  Of course she had to visit a specialist after this, and came to find out that she really did have MS, also known as Muscular Dystrophy.  Had she not visited her eye doctor when her vision started to blur, she wouldn’t have caught this disease at the early stage she did.  I know numerous people who have had similar things happen to them.  They have problems with their eyes, to find out later it’s the symptom of a disease they have that they had no idea that they had.

So why then do individuals find excuses not to visit the eye doctor on a regular basis?  I’ve discovered a few myths that people tell themselves that keep them from visiting the eye doctor when they really need to.  Here are some things you should keep from thinking when it’s time to schedule an appointment with your eye doctor.

It will go away On Its Own

When individuals have gradual eye problems, their first thought is, it will go away on its own.  My dad kept having problems with his eye really irritating him.  It was really red, and just kept bugging him.  He was having a few other issues with his body, but just kept thinking it would go away.  After sometime he finally visited the eye doctor and discovered his red irritated eye was a symptom of Wagner’s Vesculitius.  This is why it’s so important to not think that these things will just go away on their own.  Most the time your eye problems could be signs or symptoms of something else that is going on in your body.

You Don’t Have the Money to Pay for It

A lot of people put off going to the optometrist because they think that they can’t afford it.  However, many optometrists out there are very inexpensive, and will even work with you if you are in desperate need of a visit and don’t have the funds to pay for it.  Don’t put off something as important as visiting the eye doctor just because you feel like you have no other option.

When all is said and done, the moment you notice you are having a problem with your eyes you need to get into a doctor and have them checked over.  My friend who visited an optometrist Roseville professional was so glad that she did.  She found her MS early, and started treating it before it was too late.  If you are having problems with your eyes, don’t wait another minute, go out and get the help you need today.
